A Statement from Concerned Citizens of Sierra Leone A Call for the Full Implementation of the 80 Recommendations and the Peaceful Resolution of the Areas of Divergence We the concerned citizens of Sierra Leone speak with one voice guided by love for our nation respect for democratic values and commitment to peaceful progress. We recognise the importance of the reform process that followed the recent electoral cycle and we acknowledge the work that has been done to identify weaknesses and propose solutions for the future of our democracy. We believe the official 80 recommendations provide an important roadmap for stronger electoral systems greater transparency improved public communication institutional accountability and democratic confidence. Full implementation of these recommendations matters because it can modernise governance strengthen trust in national institutions and create a firmer foundation for future elections. We also recognise that the final report documented areas of divergence where the parties did not reach consensus. These unresolved matters continue to shape public debate because they touch questions of election legitimacy access to election data political detainees justice reintegration and continuous dialogue. They should be handled through lawful peaceful and credible processes that protect stability and national unity. The 80 recommendations and the divergence should not be treated as the same thing. The 80 recommendations are agreed reform measures. The divergence records unresolved matters that still require political wisdom lawful engagement and confidence building. Keeping this distinction clear helps the public understand what must be implemented and what must still be resolved. This page also presents a separate civic block called Other Recommendations. This block covers recommendations 81 to 84 as a public education and advocacy tool focused on justice reintegration and democratic stability. We the concerned citizens of Sierra Leone respectfully call on all leaders institutions and stakeholders to demonstrate courage wisdom and commitment in implementing the 80 recommendations and in addressing the areas of divergence through peaceful dialogue lawful action and responsible leadership.
